Subscriber Reviews
Without My Permission
I ordered a gift subscription for my son for Christmas two years ago. I used my credit card. I have now found that Field and Stream Magazine renewed that subscription on my card without my permission. Because I was using my card for other purchases, their unauthorized use placed my card over the limit resulting in an additional fee. I warn everyone to beware of their unethical practices if your giving them access to your credit card.
Field & Stream Fraud
We ordered a gift subscription to Field & Stream and they (Field & Stream, not Amazon) fraudelently deducted $99.70 from our checking account instead of the $9.70 written on the check. Upon calling customer service (and being put on hold for 10 full minutes) I was told flatly that a refund check would be arriving in 3-4 weeks. No explanation, apology or reparation was offered. Good thing they don't process my mortgage payment. In addition, they confused the subscriber/giver addresses and never followed through with sending us the "handsome card you can you can send to announce your gift." I recommend avoiding Field & Stream, or at the very least, ordering your subscription through Amazon rather than from the company.
Yuppified by the minute, yet stupider by the second
You would think that as the history of Field and Stream progresses and the editors and writers become high class city folk they would at least go to a college and learn to write intellegently. This magazine is full of nothing but opinions (not that i disagree with them, i just wished they sounded smart when voicing their thoughts). These writers have no background in wildlife management, yet give advice like they do. And if they do have a management background, I am glad i'm not getting my Wildlife Resource degree there. Field and Stream has became another tool of arguement. Readers yelling at writters and writters responding with cussing (no joke). The only joke here is field and Stream. Teaches nothing. Says nothing. Costs a lot.
