Quality women's magazine
...I think that Glamour has proven itself to be one of the most sensible women's magazines available. My perfect magazine would incorporate intelligent articles on health (not simply exercise, but medical issues), sex, beauty, career, relationships and travel. I think that Glamour comes very close to being the ideal magazine. I do think there is room for improvement--the quality and variety of these articles is not always what it could be. But I must say that I have actually kept one of my old Glamours because it has an excellent article on birth control pills that was extremely informative. I have never kept any other women's magazines! Glamour is not trashy like Cosmo, but I like the fact that it features fun articles on sex and relationships. I don't want the total focus to be sex and 'how to keep your man happy', but a little sex info is good! All in all I think Glamour is a quality magazine that is on the right track, but just needs to focus on being more informative and substantial.
I like it
I really like this mag. Its much different from others. This mag is more well rounded it covers fashion, health, beauty, real life stories, sex, dating, food recipes, advice. I don't agree with them all the time but its become my favorite magazine, its so much better than others. I think it appeals to intelligent, independent females who are in their 20s & 30s. Its pretty good & I enjoy reading it each month.
Jane & Glamour: better combo
I would combine a subscription of this magazine with one of Jane. Jane magazine is sassy, intelligent and witty, and written in a way you talk with a friend. None of the namby-pamby captions to the photos you see in this magazine, and the fashion spreads, tips and stories are incredible. I wish Jane were thicker, but it is a magazine I read from cover to cover. Glamour is great in the sense that its scope is broad, and has lots of topics. Jane is excellent because it's written for women who enjoy thinking for themselves, and don't just believe everything the media feeds them. Jane: Smartly written for smart women. Glamour: a good companion to it.
