Great Magazine for punk/emo/indie/harcore fans
It is a great thing that the warped tour crowd (punk/indie/emo/hardcore fans) have a solid and informative magazine to read and subscribe to. The magazine is great, has lots of interviews and information and is packed with awesome bands. I highly recommend it for any teenager in to this type of music.
To Doug...it would be stupid of me to write a review about Vibe magazine when i hate rap. At the same time it would be stupid of me to write a review on blues clues when i am too old to enjoy that. So at the same time you should not be writing about alternative press magazine when you cannot enjoy thursday or saves the day. Besides....don't act like you are more musically mature then us when you like Queens of the Stone Age. And if you have such great opinions how about you write about the quality of the articles rather then the topics and bands.
Good Magazine For Fans Of Warped Tour Bands...
Alternative Press is a fairly good magazine. It gives you the latest scoop on everything from CDs to films, even guitars. It has all the latest news and information on upcoming tours and new releases. Plus it includes TONS of interesting articles from ALL the pop punk, punk, emo, alternative and metal bands you can think of, some mainstream, others not. Even bands that mainly stay away from the press like NOFX can be found in this mag. Everything has to do with the theme of this magazine, even the ads. I personally enjoy this magazine and I'd reccomend it to anyone who is into alternative music and of course, those of you who are fans of the Warped Tour and the many bands it has to offer.
Doug is my hero
I think he put it beautifully. I'm not saying that this magazine doesn't have a little bit going for it. Still it is a magazine for people who listen to mainstream bands put out by disney and then think it is alternative.
I am so tired of emo bands crying like wussy little girls about all their problems. They are priviledged middle class kids who don't have anything worthwhile to complain about so they just complain about how everyone was mean to them when they were a kid.
Seriously I don't think there is a worse genre of music than emo. I would rather listen to NSync because at least they don't put forward any false image of being "hardcore". Emo is no different than boy bands with guitars and a fake hardcore image.
If you like prepackaged punk and "hardcore" emo then this is probably the magazine for you. If you like good music you wont find too much of interest.
