Subscriber Reviews

True to its name!

FC is by far the finest cooking magazine on the planet! It mixes each issue with reworks of classics, an excellent cooking class and tons of wonderful recipes.

They also feature a lot of comfort foods and teach the proper techniques for very down-to-earth things like grilled cheese. FC made me look at "home cooking" in a whole new light. They also feature complicated recipes and techniques, it's an excellent blend of both!

I use at least 1/2 of the recipes in each issue and this magazine has raised my cooking expertise. I'm not a chef, but I know chef's that swear by it.

If you can only have one subscription, this is it!

Best Cooking Magazine

I've subscribed to several other cooking magazines but this one by far is the best. The recipes are wonderful and every one is something that the family has loved. There are wonderful kitchen tips, ratings for kitchen gadgets, where to buy items you find in the magazine and so much more. This is the only magazine I have ever read from cover to cover and always look forward to the next one coming out and refer to the older editions I have all the time.

The only cooking magazine the home cook needs!

As a cooking school instructor, I believe there are only four pieces of reading material a home cook needs: "Fine Cooking", Corriher's "Cookwise", "The Food Lover's Companion", and Goldstein's "Wine Lover's Cookbook". Your magazine has it all: excellent cooking tips; first-rate articles rating various appliances and cooking tools; excellent pictures detailing procedures; and recipes that are error-free with ingredients listed in the order in which they are used in the instructions (a pet peeve of mine!). I agree with a recent review stating that the level of difficulty in your recipes encourages stretching one's cooking abilities but not to the poit of giving up. In the past years I have really liked that you have highlighted a small grower or breeder on the back cover--one on goat cheese and another on apples come to mind. To all the editors and contributors: keep up the wonderful work!
