Vital Information For a Cat Owner
'Catnip', the official publication of the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, one of the world's most prestigious veterinary schools, is a must have for any cat owner. Unlike magazines like 'Cat Fancy' (which I also enjoy), 'Catnip' focuses strictly on health related issues concerning domestic cats (including mental health issues.)
The magazine isn't a slick, glossy type of publication; think of it as an operations and health manual for your cat: strictly factual, objective, and focused. In keeping with that image, it does not contain advertising.
Although slim by magazine standards, the information contained is important and interesting, and in some cases could even help you save your cat's life. I highly recommend 'Catnip' for cat owners and lovers. It is an excellent value, and you will never find a better source of cutting edge feline information.
Always something new to learn about cats
I have subscribed to Catnip Magazine for about 4 years. It is the most informative magazine on cats I have seen. There are no advertisements, only medical/behavioral information and product testing, along with a medical section where subscribers can ask the doctor questions. Every issue has a story that a subscriber has sent in about their own special feline. It is a wonderful magazine. I save them in a binder for future reference. A yearly index is published(no extra charge)just for this purpose.
The Kiplinger Letter for Cats
This relatively inexpensive publication comes out monthly with some sound advice for cat owners and great reviews on products. No ads or glossy pictures, just the facts.
