American Girl is the best magazine ever for girls ages 8-13! Whenever I'm feeling bad I just reread a magazine and I feel better. There are fun craft and gift ideas, like room crafts or crafts to make during the holiday season. There's also Girls Express, which is just short articles and polls and interviews. Heart to Heart is a place where you can write in on a certain topic. There are also game ideas. There are special articles on fun games to play, but there's also a regular feauture called the Giggle Gang, which is puzzles and games. There are true stories about girls, too, and Behind the Scenes, which descibes itself. There's also something extra in every issue, like mini posters or a free board game. So order American Girl today! I hope you'll LOVE it!

Good for girls ages 8-11

Girls ages 8 to 11 will probably find this magazine to be interesting, but I suggest something different if you are 12 or older because American Girl does not really talk about beauty, boys, and fashion. It is a self-esteem and confidence booster for girls and will help you to become the best you can be.

Issues include many real-life stories about girls who have done different things for the world or any heroic acts, which show that girls can do a lot and are creative and capable. Plus, there are also drawing and essay contests where winners are published in the magazine and have an opportunity to show off their skills.

In addition, each issue includes fun quizzes, games, crafts, party ideas, health ideas, and different features where girls can speak out on different topics and things that have made a difference in their lives. Not to mention that they feature seasonal issues with articles about doing well in the new school year, making fun holiday crafts, doing fun stuff in the summer to keep busy and stay cool, and other things. There are also many fiction stories and those "2-minute" mysteries.

Overall, American Girl is a very good magazine for those girls who are in the 8-12 age range. It is appropriate, fun, exciting, and helps girls learn more about their world.

awesome..but it's too short

American Girl's just right for the parents who think their children aren't ready for teen magazines like Teen People and YM. American Girl doesn't have any articles about fashion or makeup, but there are plenty of articles about real girls and stuff like that. American Girl is perfect for girls ages 8 to 12. Girls 13 and older really should read teen magazines like Seventeen. The great thing about American Girl is that there are NO ADVERTISEMENTS!!!!! The bad thing is that American Girl is WAY too short. It's only about 50 pages long. Normal magazines around 150 pages. And the price is way expensive. I mean, 30 dollars for 6 magazines???? I recommend Girl's Life if you think that American Girl is too expensive. Girl's Life is a longer magazine and aimed for a little higher age group, like 10-14, but it's not really a "teen" magazine, but it has some advertisements in it.
