Consistently excellent
I am the anti-pack rat and I throw out mags as soon as I am done with them. But not this one. I keep these back issues and they provide tons of inspiration, how to, new product info and are just an indispensible resource.
The most improved scrapbooking magazine of 2003
Creating Keepsakes is one of the original scrapbook magazines, and possibly the most popular overall today. The focus of the articles does seem to be mostly on scrapbooking for families with small children, but CK has a great general scrapbooking appeal for a wide range of crafters and levels of involvement -- a "something for everyone" magazine.
This past year, I have noticed CK's layouts becoming cleaner and more, well...creative. There is more emphasis than ever on general design principles and less on fads. Also, I have seen more articles that reach out to scrappers without kids and men. Good job. However, there is still a tendency to ignore page ideas that eliminate the need for buying the latest products in the scrapbooking industry. More articles on layouts that can be achieved with the "basics" (solid-colored cardstocks and papers, for instance) would be appreciated by the frugal scrappers.
Because of CK's recent shift to monthly issues, it is the best scrapbooking magazine subscription value on the market right now IMHO.
